Ingredients
  

  • 3/4 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 1/4  cup flour
  • 1 1/4  cup quick oats
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 24 caramels
  • 1/4 cup milk 
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup walnuts or pecans (optional) 

Instructions
 

  • Microwave butter, until softened
  • Combine flour, oats, brown sugar, baking soda, and salt
  • Stir dry mix into butter
  • Set 1/3 cup of this mix aside for the topping
  • Press remaining mix into an 8 inch pan
  • Cook for 2 to 3 minutes in the microwave
  • Next heat caramels and milk for 3-4 minutes until smooth.
  • Sprinkle chocolate chips, and nuts over the crust
  • Pour caramel mix over 
  • Sprinkle remaining crust over the pan and then cook in the microwave for 3 to 4 minutes
  • Cool before cutting
