- 3/4 cup butter or margarine
- 1 1/4 cup flour
- 1 1/4 cup quick oats
- 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 24 caramels
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup walnuts or pecans (optional)
Microwave butter, until softened
Combine flour, oats, brown sugar, baking soda, and salt
Stir dry mix into butter
Set 1/3 cup of this mix aside for the topping
Press remaining mix into an 8 inch pan
Cook for 2 to 3 minutes in the microwave
Next heat caramels and milk for 3-4 minutes until smooth.
Sprinkle chocolate chips, and nuts over the crust
Pour caramel mix over
Sprinkle remaining crust over the pan and then cook in the microwave for 3 to 4 minutes
