- Flour and oil for browning the chuck roast
- Beef chuck or rump roast
- 1 packet brown gravy mix
- 1 packet dry ranch dressing mix
- 1 packet dry Italian dressing mix
- 1 package baby carrots
- 2 lbs potatoes peeled and cut into large cubes
- 1 tsp salt for Browning
- 1 tsp pepper for Browning
Mix flour, pepper, and salt. Lightly coat the chuck roast with flour mix. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat. Brown the chuck roast on all sides in the hot oil until lightly golden.
Transfer the browned chuck roast to the bottom of your slow cooker.
Add the potatoes and baby carrots to the slow cooker around the chuck roast.
Mix the brown gravy mix, dry ranch dressing mix, and dry Italian dressing mix 1 1/2 cup water. Pour over the chuck roast, potatoes, and carrots.
Cover and cook on high for four hours or on low for eight hours, until the meat is tender and the vegetables are cooked through.
